DoorDash has announced the acquisition of SevenRooms, a leading restaurant reservation and guest experience platform, significantly expanding its commerce capabilities beyond food delivery.
SevenRooms currently supports over 13,000 venues worldwide, including major hospitality brands such as Marriott International, MGM Resorts, and Wynn Resorts. The platform provides reservation management, guest data analytics, and marketing automation tools.
The acquisition, expected to close in H2 2025, enhances DoorDash's ability to help restaurants drive both on-premise dining and delivery sales. It follows the company's recent acquisition of Deliveroo and reflects its strategy to integrate more deeply into restaurant operations.
'This acquisition allows us to offer our merchant partners new capabilities to enhance guest experiences and drive revenue across all channels,' said a DoorDash spokesperson. 'SevenRooms' technology complements our platform perfectly.'
For SevenRooms, joining DoorDash provides access to greater resources and broader market reach, accelerating its innovation roadmap. The combination creates a comprehensive platform addressing both delivery and dine-in experiences.
William Blair acted as exclusive financial advisor to SevenRooms, while A&O Shearman served as legal counsel to DoorDash. The deal underscores the ongoing convergence of food delivery and restaurant technology sectors.
