Silk Road Group Acquires Kokhta Hotel in Bakuriani

Silk Road Group announced the acquisition of the Kokhta Hotel in Bakuriani, marking a new investment in Georgia’s growing tourism sector. The hotel, located at the base of the Kokhta-Mitarbi ski area, is considered one of the key facilities serving both domestic and international visitors.

Company executives said the acquisition is part of a broader plan to develop mountain resorts and create high quality accommodation options across Georgia. They noted that Bakuriani has become increasingly attractive due to recent infrastructure upgrades, including improved roads, new ski lifts and expanded winter sports facilities.

The Kokhta Hotel will continue operations under its existing brand while Silk Road Group undertakes upgrades to modernize guest services and amenities. The company confirmed that it is also considering partnerships with international operators to increase visibility and attract more tourists from Europe and Asia.

Bakuriani has seen record visitor numbers in recent years, boosted by hosting international sporting events and government efforts to promote year round tourism. Industry officials expect the hotel’s integration into Silk Road Group’s portfolio will help the resort strengthen its position as a leading destination for both winter and summer activities.
