EU Commits 10 Billion Euros to Middle Corridor Development

The European Union announced €10 billion commitment for Middle Corridor sustainable transport connectivity during the Trans-Caspian Transport forum, marking major infrastructure investment.

European Commission Executive VP Valdis Dombrovskis compiled contributions from international partners present at the Investors Forum, signing multiple memoranda of understanding.

Commissioner Jutta Urpilainen noted public and private stakeholders will collaborate on this crucial corridor connecting Europe with Central Asian trade routes.

The Regional Transport Program, adopting in 2025, offers technical assistance for transport projects, contributing to €1.5 billion from the Commission and European Investment Bank.

June 2023 EBRD study identified 33 hard infrastructure needs and 7 soft connectivity actions to enhance trans-Caspian network efficiency and economic attractiveness.
